Why do social projects need sports volunteers?

Summary

  • Lack of financial, time and human resources in small social projects
  • Lack of opportunities to learn new sports skills
  • Projects receive support to enable more children and young people to participate in sport
  • Strengthen local support and motivation through the presence of volunteers
  • Local coaches benefit sustainably from new knowledge and experience
  • Volunteers improve the coordination and development of sports programmes

Many small social organisations and initiatives suffer from a lack of financial and/or human resources to effectively implement their development programmes in their communities.

In addition, the organisations or private change-makers often do not have the opportunity to acquire new skills, especially when it comes to learning a “new” sport with which they are not yet familiar. Time and manpower are also often an issue.

COACH ABROAD aims to bridge this gap by matching partner projects with dedicated coaches who have the relevant sporting experience and expertise. With the help of volunteer coaches, existing and new sports programmes can be better coordinated, and projects can be more sustainable and focused.

You bring your knowledge and your manpower to bear on the ground. Local volunteers and coaches can benefit from the new knowledge and experience you bring. At the same time, you will be helping us to achieve our goal of getting more children and young people involved in sport. With your help, we can make the partner projects more visible and hopefully attract more local support. This will motivate even more local people to get involved!
